Why did Yugoslavs decide to resist? A comparison with France and Germany

In the framework of the project “Wer ist Walter? Resistance against Nazism in Europe” we are organizing this online event which will deal with the reasons and motivations for resistance against occupation and collaboration in Yugoslavia, especially in the “Independent State of Croatia”, during World War 2, followed by a discussion to what extent the context and the reasons for resistance were different and/or similar in France and in Germany.

Speakers / discussants: Hrvoje Klasić (University of Zagreb), Robert Gildea (University of Oxford) and Christl Wickert (freelance historian)
